Newcastle International was the fastest-growing regional airport in the UK in 2005 as passenger figures topped 5 million per year. Newcastle International secured its first ever scheduled long-haul route with Emirates Airline, on September 1 2007, flying daily direct from Newcastle to Dubai and opening up onward connections to over 50 destinations. The route quickly became Emirates’ best performing new route in the UK. Newcastle Airport currently has just over 600 carparking spaces - 69 of which provide cover and are securely fenced, the remainder are located in four (4) carparks situated within minutes walk to the terminal. As there has been a significant increase in passengers and vehicles Newcastle Airport would like to inform all passengers it is advisable to allow in excess of 30 minutes prior to the required check-in time to ensure that you have time to park your vehicle and walk to the terminal. Signs are located inside the airport precinct providing information on which carparks are available and which carparks are currently "full" - please use these signs to assist when trying to locate parking.
